17Aug2023: Squamish-based Carbon Engineering acquired by Occidental Petroleum for US$1.1B (for the 68% that it didn’t already own, i.e. Enterprise value >>2Bn CAD).
8Oct2021: T-Net – Copperleaf Technologies‘ shares soared on its first official day of trading, up 32.64% from its original $15 listing price, and closing at $22.88 per share (up $5.63), leaving the company with an estimated market cap of approximately $1.3 billion ($1 billion US).
The Offering was upsized from an initial size of $125 million as a result of excess demand.
17Sep2021–(T-Net)–Vancouver-based Copperleaf Technologies Inc., a provider of enterprise decision analytics software solutions, announced today that it has filed, and obtained a receipt for, a preliminary base PREP prospectus with the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories in Canada for a proposed IPO (initial public offering) of common shares in the capital of the Company. The company plans to go public on the Toronto Stock Exchange (with stock symbol TSX: CPLF).

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

(TSX: PHO), a leading manufacturer of fiber optic measurement solutions, announced today that it has entered into an arrangement agreement with MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of instruments, systems, subsystems and process control solutions based in Andover, Massachusetts, pursuant to which MKS will acquire Photon Control for $3.60 per common share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $387 million.
10May2021: T-Net – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), a leader in interactive entertainment and sports gaming, announced today the acquisition of Metalhead Software, a Victoria, BC-based video game studio and developer of the fan-favorite Super Mega Baseball franchise. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
22Apr2021: Vancouver based Thinkific prices IPO at $13/share to raise $160 million. The offering was oversubscribed and priced at the high end of the range. Thinkific, founded in 2012, sells a platform for on-line course providers. The company generated $21M in revenue in 2020.
14Apr2021: Kelowna’s FreshGrade, a digital assessment platform, has been acquired by Higher Ground Education, a network of Montessori schools in the US and China.
4Apr2021: Requiti, a Canadian firm that helps businesses navigate business tax incentives like Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED, has acquired FinTech startup Pinmo of Vancouver for $13 million CAD.
30Mar2021: Telehealth startup Dialogue Health Technologies has gone public on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), raising $100 million through its previously announced initial public offering (IPO). The Montréal-based firm began trading today on the TSX under the symbol “CARE.”
29Mar2021: Canadarm maker MDA lists on TSX (symbol MDA), raising $400 million. MDA, originally founded in Vancouver by John MacDonald and Vern Dettwiler was public once before but was renamed Maxar and moved to Colorado. In 2020 it was bought by Northern Private Capital for $1Bn and moved to Brampton, Ontario.
22Mar2021: BIV – Vancouver’s Beanworks Solutions Inc is being acquired for approximately $105 million by French enterprise services firm Quadient SA ADR. The new parent company said “two key leaders” will retain a 4% minority stake in Beanworks following the all-cash deal, although Quadient has an option of completely acquiring the Vancouver company in the coming years.
15Mar2021: Veracyte, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCYT) today announced it has completed its USD$600M cash acquisition of Decipher Biosciences, Inc. to further solidify its global leadership in genomic diagnostics, with an expanded reach into 7 of the 10 most common cancers in the United States. Decipher, formerly named GenomeDx was founded in Vancouver BC.
10Mar2021: Betakit – Vancouver health services company WELL Health plans to acquire electronic medical records (EMR) provider Intrahealth for $19.25 million. The deal is expected to be completed early during the second quarter of 2021. Intrahealth, which was founded in New Zealand but is currently based in Vancouver, has a deep intellectual property (IP) portfolio and a customizable platform, which it uses to support approximately 15,000 clinicians across Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
9Mar2021: Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals lists on TSX, raising $41M at $8/unit.
9Mar2021: Mednow Inc. an on-demand virtual pharmacy, begins trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol “MNOW”. The IPO raised gross proceeds of $37M.
